5 tips – How to have sustainable bedding for your children

Children grow out of more than their clothes. When their cot or bed becomes too cramped and needs to be replaced, it's a good time to have a look at their duvets, pillows and bed linens. Instead of investing in medium sizes that only work for a limited time, and quality that doesn't measure up - we suggest that you make room for a more sustainable approach in the bedroom. In this way, your children's bedroom can grow in step with them, providing a delightful sleeping experience, and a better future.

  1. CHOOSE THE RIGHT SIZE OF DUVET

  2. INVEST IN BEDDING THAT LASTS OVER TIME
Bedding designed for children does not have a particularly long service life. It is rare for bedding to wear out before a child outgrows it, especially when they hit the tweenie growth phase. It's better to invest in one or two sets of premium quality bedding, instead. Choose a timeless design or a colour that you know your child likes. Luxurious Satina, for example, is available in a range of colours, that will help your child's bedroom grow with them.

  3. BED WITH SEVERAL PILLOWS
Even older children need a comfortable bedroom - a place for play, as well as rest and relaxation. By having many pillows, the bedroom can quickly be turned into a cosy reading corner or fun gaming sofa. The more pillows, the better! Pillows also help adults to lie comfortably during bedtime stories or homework support.

  4. CHOOSE SUSTAINABLE QUALITY WITHOUT CHEMICALS
Perhaps this is obvious, but we can't stress enough how important it is to use bed linen without chemicals, and which is as sustainable as possible. All our products are STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certified, and many of our items are also made of organic cotton and GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified. If you choose the Fresco duvet cover in our cool and crisp percale, made of 50% lyocell (TENCEL™) and 50% cotton, you can combine superb comfort with a high quality and durable item. It's the perfect choice for your child's sleeping experience, and their future.

  5. CHOOSE DOWN APPROVED BY ASTHMA ALLERGY NORDIC
To make the bed and sleep in natural materials is a wonderful feeling. Our down products contain first-class down from Europe, are certified by IDFL and recommended by Asthma Allergy Nordic. In other words, you can feel completely safe when you sleep in our products. Also think about how your child sleeps best - is it on their stomach, back or side? This helps to determine which down pillow is best suited for them. The same applies when choosing a down duvet - think about whether your child usually sleeps best when warm or cool. No matter which one you choose, the feeling will always be first-class and support healthy sleep.
